About Judith

Good writing and clear thinking are skills that can be taught — and they change everything.

I am an experienced English and humanities teacher with a background in leading independent schools in both the United States and the United Kingdom, including The Nueva School in California and Pine Crest School in Florida. I am now based in Santa Barbara, where I work with middle and high school students on writing, reading, and independent study.

Approach

My teaching is structured, supportive, and tailored to each student. I help students move from uncertainty to clarity — whether in essays, reading, or longer projects — building both skill and confidence over time. Rather than providing answers, I work to draw out what students already think, developing their ability to question, reason, and express themselves with greater precision.

Today's Classroom

I support students in navigating today's academic environment, including how to use tools like AI thoughtfully, without losing their own voice or understanding.

Outcomes

Students I have taught at AP and IB Diploma level have gone on to highly selective universities, including Ivy League schools, in both the US and the UK.
